Shares of United Airlines plunged yesterday after a rumor spread that the company had filed for bankruptcy. It did . . . in 2002. Apparently through a combination of computer (Google) glitch and human error, a 2002 story in a Florida paper became news in 2008. There’s a pretty good account here.
